If your child is struggling with maths

Many children find maths hard at some point. That does not mean you have failed, and a website cannot promise to “fix” it. Here is a calm way to practise at home.

A calm checklist for tonight

Sit beside them. You are a teammate, not a judge.
Keep the session to a few minutes. Stop while they still feel OK.
Use coins, beads, or food to count — fingers and real objects first.
Praise trying, not only speed. A slow correct answer is still success.
If the child is upset, close the work. Try again another day.
A ClassVani game is optional extra: guest play, no download, no account. If the game raises stress, close it. The relationship matters more than the round.

What this is not

We do not diagnose learning difficulties. We do not claim to treat dyscalculia or replace a teacher, tutor, or doctor. If worry lasts, or schoolwork is far from what the class is doing, speak to the class teacher. They know the child in the room.

Small next steps

Counting and “how many” before speed. Then times tables in tiny bites. Everyday dollars and the clock make maths feel useful. Place value (including lakhs and crores) can wait until the smaller seats feel steady.

Frequently asked questions

Will online games cure a struggle with maths?

No. Games can make short practice less scary. They are not a cure, not a medical product, and not a substitute for school.

Is this a treatment for dyscalculia?

No. We do not diagnose or treat dyscalculia or any learning difficulty. If you are worried, speak to the class teacher. Whether to see a specialist is a school or medical decision — not a game.

How long should we practise if maths is upsetting?

Minutes, not hours. End on something the child can do. Try again another day.

When should we talk to the school?

If the child is often distressed, avoids maths completely, or you see a wide gap with classmates, ask the teacher. You are not bothering them by asking early.

Do we need an account to try a ClassVani game?

No. Guest play is enough. See the guest-play note if you want the details.
